Professional History

Alex Garner is an American comic book artist. He began his career in 1993 working for Valiant Comics on their title Deathmate. Garner then went to work for Image Comics and later for Jim Lee's WildStorm Productions. In 1999 he co-founded IDW Publishing and became Creative Director and Lead Artist before selling the company.

His first published work with DC Comics was in the Batman title during the Batman: No Man's Land crossover. Since then he has worked as a freelance Illustrator and concept artist for various companies including Marvel Comics, Blizzard Entertainment, Warner Home Video, Hasbro and many others.

Most recently he has been working for DC's New 52 titles as Batgirl; Batman and Batman Eternal.

Personal History

Garner graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in computer science. He currently lives in San Diego, California.
