Veidt's creature is a gigantic mutant squid-like being created by Adrian Veidt in the hopes of uniting. Over the course of many years, Veidt Enterprises developed the monster, cloning it from the brain of an alleged psychic, and on November 2, 1985, Veidt himself teleported it into New York City, where it unleashed a psychic blast that killed three million people and traumatized millions more. Once focused on nuclear war, the world now shifted their focus to this "alien invasion", and nuclear armageddon was averted by the now-deceased monster. Veidt's creature was created by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, first appearing in the Watchmen #11. (1987)
