Synopsis for "The Sinister Plot of Professor Caspar"
One warm night Doiby's driving Alan Scott home when he almost hits a man who walked into the street, seemingly dazed. Doiby's annoyed, but Alan recognizes the man as Fog Blake, the pilot in a notorious plane crash where a group of brilliant scientists were killed. Alan goes after Fog and treats him to dinner to hear his side of the story. He was to fly a coalition of brilliant scientists to a meeting where they would pool their intellects to solving important national defense problems. Near the end of the flight, Fog says, he blacked out, and next thing he knew he was on the ground wearing a parachute near the plane's fiery wreckage. To the rest of the world it looked like he chickened out and abandoned the scientists, so he lost everything; his reputation, his pilot's license, and his girlfriend.
Alan doesn't have long to dwell on this with how immediately afterward he encounters helmeted bank robbers wielding strange pistols that shoot blasts of sound, powerful enough to knock out even Green Lantern. Afterward he remembers how one of the scientists in the crash was Professor Steinholtz, an expert on sound. Visiting the professor's house, they find a diary explaining that he did indeed invent a pistol capable of sonic blasts, as well as visits by a Professor Caspar who was interested in his invention but who Steinholtz didn't trust. They head to Caspar's place and overhear him telling minions to destroy a factory that night. Green Lantern sends Doiby to investigate, only for the portly cabbie to be discovered and captured, while he flies to get Fog Blake in order to stop the sabotage at the bomb-sight factory being carried out by Caspar's flunkies.
In the ensuing fight at the factory Green Lantern gets hit with a chair and Fog's taken prisoner. GL awakens and flies after the plane the crooks use to make their getaway. When it comes down it seems it's on top of a field of rough rocks, but this is only a sheet of canvas quickly rolled up by other minions to keep other planes from thinking to land there. Fog Blake finds the scientists from the crash did not perish (although some expired from torture to force them to lend their scientific prowess to the hostile foreign power Caspar works for). Caspar hypnotizes Fog and Doiby with a gimmicked monocle and orders Doiby to stab Green Lantern, the only one who can threaten his plans. Doiby suddenly turns on Caspar and attacks him instead. GL revives and after a fight Caspar and his gang are captured. When it's revealed he masterminded the plan to capture the scientists and frame Fog Blake, the pilot's license is restored and his good name cleared. When Doiby wonders why he wasn't hypnotized, Alan Scott teasingly hypothesizes it's because his brain was too small.

Synopsis for "The Car Racket"
After saving up for months, Al Pratt has $150 needed to buy a used car. When he takes it for a test drive the brakes give out and he almost hits a boy crossing the street. Only driving off the road and jumping out at the last minute saves their lives. He goes back to the dealership as the Atom, and finds the employees packing up to skip town after someone found out how dangerous the old wrecks they try to dress up and sell are. After beating up his underlings, the dealer eagerly obeys the hero's order to call the police and confess.

Synopsis for "The Bomber"
At a train station, Sargon sees a man drop a bag but run away with all speed. Turning stairs into a slide to keep him from getting away, then inspecting the contents of the bag, Sargon realizes it contains a bomb and the man carrying it is a foreign saboteur. The spy refuses to give anything away, so as he sleeps, Sargon sneaks him out to a park bench and follows him back to his group's headquarters in a gymnasium. Inside he finds a group of Nazis in full uniform, the leader carrying a note with the locations of all the bombs they've planted. Enchanting some boxing gloves to pummel the Nazis while he gets the note, Sargon escapes then throws it through the window of a police precinct wrapped around a rock. The cops manage to locate all the bombs and capture all the saboteurs, thanks to the information Sargon snuck them.
