Synopsis for Green Lantern: "Mountain Music Mayhem"
A hillbilly clan, the Hatfields, live in abject poverty, even though they have $900,000 of stolen loot stored in their barn. They swore to their grandpappy they wouldn't touch it until they stole an even million, even though there's nothing left to steal in their remote mountain territory. One progeny of the family steals a mailbag, but the letter in it was addressed to them anyway: Alan Scott's broadcast outfit's sending a crew into their neck of the woods to do a hillbilly music jamboree on the air. The Hatfields attack the train carrying Alan, Doiby and the broadcast crew, prompting Alan to become Green Lantern and show the hillbillies who they're messing with. The Hatfield patriarch declares this was just a rustic welcome, even though the baggage car went missing in the course of the scuffle.
While Alan gets set up for the broadcast, Doiby goes looking for the missing train car. He runs into Lucy, the beautiful daughter of the Hatfield family, just before the rival family McCoys run into them. It looks like curtains until Green Lantern flies down and drives off the McCoys, having come looking for the radio cast, stolen by the Hatfields. They've also stolen the train, the broadcasting equipment, and the musicians' instruments. The McCoys return and attack then, surrounding Doiby and preventing Green Lantern from attacking with his friend's life on the line. Rescue comes in the form of the Hatfields, who want the broadcast to go ahead so Lucy can have a shot at a singing career. Lantern has the Hatfields set up the stolen broadcast equipment so the program can go ahead, but Lucy's vocal talents are not the match of her looks, and Green Lantern broods about the end of Alan Scott's broadcasting career. The McCoys even call off their ancient feud with the Hatfields to try and get Lucy to stop singing. Later, it turns out the record of Lucy's vocal assault has been dubbed the funniest thing to come along in a while, saving Alan's career.

Synopsis for Doctor Mid-Nite: "The Valley of the City of Gold"
While on a lecture tour in Mexico, Dr. McNider hears a local legend about a city of gold. Anyone who finds it comes staggering back to civilization telling wild tales, only to expire shortly thereafter. One such case staggers into town just then, and a pair of unscrupulous crooks decide to get the man from his hospital bed to guide them back to the golden city. Dr. McNider becomes Dr. Mid-Nite to foil their kidnapping attempt, but while he's beating them up, the patient himself clubs the hero unconscious to get the crooks to help him find the city again like they promised.
After regaining consciousness, Dr. Mid-Nite pursues the men into the jungle bordering the town, where his power to see in the dark and ability to rely on his other senses makes up for the head start they have on him. Eventually he pursues the greedy trio into a cavern, where they think they've found the legendary golden city. The hero discovers the real truth: the "city" is just rock formations reflecting solar or lunar light, and seeming to shine like gold. Just before that location is a natural pool of molten lead, and the fumes given off by that poisoned the people who thought they'd found the city. Both deluding them into thinking they'd seen a city of gold, and killing them shortly after they made it back to civilization with their story.
