Synopsis for Green Lantern: "Springtime for Doiby"
At the WXYZ Radio station, Enoch Moore bursts into the studio during Alan Scott's broadcast and takes over the mic, attempting to send a message to his son. Alan takes the desperate man into his office for an explanation. Enoch's son, Ray, has been gone for ten years after a fight left them estranged. So Alan decides to send a message out over the airwaves, asking for Ray to call the station if he hears it. A few minutes later, a call from Ray, who only says he can't meet his father before hanging up again. Alan traces the call and sends Enoch home for the day with the promise that he'll find his son.
Alan rushes back to his apartment and dons the uniform of the Green Lantern. With his friend and partner Doiby Dickles, Alan flies over the city headed to Ray Moore's home. When Ray sees Green Lantern, he pulls out a gun, which Doiby quickly makes him drop thanks to a well aimed pillow. Ray explains that he's too ashamed to see his father the way he is now. He is a member of Killer Dill's gang, a known criminal, and though he thought about going straight, he fears his boss would kill him if he tried. As soon as he says this, Killer Dill knocks on the door. Alan hides himself behind a curtain and Doiby under the bed while Ray answers. Killer is there to pick up Ray for a job they're going to pull, giving him no choice but to leave with him. Alan grabs Doiby, who has a troubling bed spring stuck on his rear, and follows the crooks car from above.
The car stops at the Zenith Umbrella Factory. They're goal is to break into the safe. But then, Green Lantern and Doiby swoop in and a fight ensues. Even though Doiby gets caught on a fixture by the spring stuck to his pants, the fight still ends with the result being Killer Dill down for the count and Ray Moore nowhere to be seen. Alan leaves Doiby to tie up the gang while he searches nearby area for Ray, sweeping the neighborhood street by street to no avail. And when he returns, Doiby is knocked out on the floor, with all the crooks except for Killer Dill gone. Angry at the betrayal by his boys, Killer gives out the address of their hideout.
After dropping Killer Dill off at the police station, Green Lantern and Doiby land on the roof of the hideout. Through the skylight they see Ray more and his father, Enoch, with Dill's gang. Alan drops into the room to force an explanation out of the father and son team. The ruse exposed, Ray explains how he had his sights set on taking Killer Dill out of the picture. The problem was that Killer was too strong for him to take down alone, so his father made up a phony story and got Alan Scot to help him. Enoch knew that Alan was friends with the Green Lantern, so he counted on him recruiting the emerald crusader to help them deal with Killer Dill. As Ray is talking, Enoch hits Green Lantern over the head with his wooden cane. The crooks escape into their getaway car but Doiby, sent flying thanks to the bed spring catching on a laundry pole and snapping him back, crashes right through the canopy of the car. Alan recovers and rushes out to help his friend with the power of his ring. Ray, his father, and the rest of Killers crew are sent to the police, and Doiby finally is free of the bed spring. Until the drivers seat in his beloved cab pops it's springs...

Synopsis for Doctor Mid-Nite: "The Man with the Long-Distance Eyes"
Something very peculiar was affecting Regis Morgan's vision. At times, he is able to see things clearly up to a mile away. While Dr. Mid-Nite tries to help him by creating a special pair of glasses, underworld gangster "Hands" Harrigan wants to use Regis as a lookout while he and his boys commit crimes around town. During a fight between Dr. Mid-Nite and Harrigan's gang, Regis gets hit in both his eyes. When Dr. Mid-Nite was standing victorious, Regis is beaming with delight. The blows cured his vision, and he can now see normally again!

Synopsis for Hop Harrigan: "A Flight for Freedom"
Hop and Ikky pilot a plane carrying United Nations diplomats to the African colony of Fugeria, to see if its leaders are ready to self-govern. The diamond thief Scarlow and his men have also sneaked aboard. When they all arrive, Hop meets the three leaders of Fugeria's three largest tribes; Gowing of the Kingsize tribe, Ngoin of the Ursyze tribe, and Gawn of the Pintseyes tribe. Meanwhile Scarlow has hid gang disguise themselves as tribesmen from each tribe and try to start a war. He is after the diamond mines in the tribes territories, and if he can drive off or kill every member, he'll be free to take all the diamonds for himself. Hop notices the disguised gang members and trails them to a hidden hideout in an old mine tunnel. Together, he and Ikky fight Scarlow and his goons off long enough for the three tribe leaders to form a peace conference.
When Scarlow wakes up, he finds he's tied up back on board the plane, which is headed back to the United States where he'll face trial.
