History

Allison Sanders was affected by the 1989 meteor shower, in which she had been passionately making out at a remote location when she was exposed to the radiation, which spiked her sexuality. As a result, she developed a pheromone-based type of mind control. Using this new ability, she bamboozled her boyfriend into murdering her parents. He was arrested and later convicted of the double murder and sentenced to death. Because Allison was never suspected of patricide, she got away scot-free and was eligible for inheritance. The cross-wills of her parents stated in the unlikely event of both husband and wife dying at once, their only daughter would inherit their entire estate. However, Mr. and Mrs. Sanders were lower-middle class Americans who had only amassed a small amount of savings, mutual funds and other assets prior to their murders. As a result, Allison was terribly disappointed by her meager ill-gotten inheritance.

A few years after her parents' murder, Allison married a rich man. However, she wanted the man's possessions, not the man. She committed adultery against her husband and used her pheromone power to hypnotize her paramour into murdering her husband. The rich man's will stated that his entire estate went to his bride. Allison got the big money and good life she always craved, but an economic downturn combined with her lack of education caused her to make questionable financial decisions. These poor investments, in tandem with Allison's heavy partying, evaporated her ill-gotten fortune.

In 2002, Allison returned to her old hometown. Now known as "Desirée Atkins", she took as teaching job at Smallville High and married Lex Luthor. Desirée had originally intended to use Clark Kent, as the one to kill off her new husband. Clark had resistance to her power, but was not fully immune, as he was still struggling to control his newly discovered heat vision. Allison took advantage of this to have Clark arrested for arson.

She later took control over Jonathan Kent, in her final attempt to kill Lex, by having Jonathan shoot him. However, she was stopped by Clark, who melted the bullets from Jonathan's gun.

Afterwards, Desirée was taken into custody and Lex had their marriage annulled.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

• Mind Control: Desirée is able to generate pheromones, which she can transfer to others through a kiss. These pheromones places the victim under her absolute control.

Weaknesses

Desirée's power is limited to humans. Kryptonians, like Clark Kent, have proven immune to her powers, although it could cause Kryptonian powers to go awry. Humans of strong moral fiber, such as Jonathan Kent, can be cured of the pheromones faster than those with poor morals.
