Princess Althea was the founder and elected ruler of the underwater Sargasso Sea Kingdom on the edge of the Bermuda Triangle.

History

Althea was a Grecian princess in ancient times, who was abducted and enslaved when her home was attacked by Romans. The Romans' ship was caught in a terrible storm that freed the captives below-deck, and blew the ship off course. Althea took over the ship and founded a mobile civilization that eventually settled in the Sargasso Sea, where they found a sea herb that stopped them from aging, giving them immortality as long as they continued to take it. The settlement's supply of this herb, according to Princess Althea, was depleted in the mid-20th Century. Over the decades, Althea had invited those shipwrecked in the triangle to join her people, and they developed an Atmosphere Controller that allowed them to control the weather above their Sargasso Sea Kingdom. In the 20th century a warmonger named Master De Stroyer invaded the hidden kingdom and took control of the Sargasso natives by holding their beloved princess Althea prisoner.

De Stroyer made a miscalculation when he sunk the ship belonging to Holliday College professor Captain Seadunk, aboard which were the constantly-traveling Holliday Girls. Wonder Woman arrived to rescue her friends, and in the process freed Althea.
