Alura In-Ze is a Kryptonian scientist and the mother to Supergirl. Her husband Zor-El is the brother to Jor-El, Superman's father. Together they survived Krypton's destruction when they were abducted by Brainiac and placed inside the bottle city of Kandor. Eventually she would grow on to play a larger political role in New Krypton, although she died during the War of the Supermen. She is a member of the Kryptonian Science Guild.

Alura In-Ze was created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino, first appearing in Action Comics #252. (1959)
