Amanda Waller heads a secret organization in handling extraterrestrial threats, which led her to discover Abin Sur's body.
History
U.S. Military
Twenty years ago, Amanda Waller was private in the U.S. Military. During field training, she encountered an alien machine that fused with the metal at a military scrapyard. The threat, armed with all sorts of weaponry, attacked Waller, but Amanda managed to survive the encounter and destroy the machine, luring it near a truck full of explosives. The explosion also knocked her out, and when she woke up, the entire scrapyard disappeared (unbeknownst to her, the Green Lantern Abin Sur, tasked with the retrieval of the device, was watching her from a distance, and he took the entire scrapyard into a space to get rid of any alien evidence). The military blamed the massive crater on a weapon test.
After interviewing her about the incident, the Department of Extranormal Operations offered Amanda a job in their agency.[1]
