The Amazo Armor is a nanomolecular armor chassis modeled after the android itself.

History

It was built in the wake of the Amazo epidemic a few years earlier, after the League managed to quarantine patient zero and found a cure to his plague.[1] Luthor and his techs went to work studying both the robotic entity and his organic facsimile, the result of which was a suit of armor with an underlying A.I. sentience of its own.[2]

As its consciousness grew, the entity found it could connect with others touched by the Amazo, sending out low frequency carrier waves to summon a willing host it could assimilate with. Eventually finding the ideal suitor in a virus infected who retained his powers after being cured, the survivor being one Reggie Meyer.[3]

Built upon the various namesakes it was created after, The Amazo Armor's primary function revolves around evolution via the siphoning and replication of metahuman abilities.[3] To that end its technology also enables boosting the powers of an Amazo Virus infected by bonding to their genetic structure. Granting them greatly expanded abilities compared to what the wearer's normally capable of on their own.[4]

In the case of the new Kid Amazo, he could create limitless duplicates of himself that were techno-mechanical in nature. All sharing in his powers while boasting the unique capability to mimic whomever they came in contact with, be it in semblance, abilities or special skills.[4]

Even after being forcefully removed, The Amazo armor still retains its own autonomy. Being able to selectively choose who it bonds to next, and the process is revealed to be more parasitic than symbiotic.[5] In order to gain a sense of self, the Armor's mechanisms feed off the genetic material of its host user; emulating everything that made them, them in order to accumulate sustenance granting the armor more of a consciousness its own. Normally at the cost of burning out whomever the suit is fused too, leaving them a catatonic shell of their former selves.

Without a host to weigh down its evolution, the armor has vast technomorphing and absorptive replication abilities. Ones potent enough to overwhelm technologies stemming from the 4th world, such as cyborgs New Genesisian/Apokoliptian bionic chassis with ease.[6] But to regulate any excess external power, it needs an internal energy filter in order to maintain it; therefore requiring an ever persistent need in acquiring stronger hosts.[6]
