The American War of Independence originated in Britain's North American colonies, growing out of the issues on taxation, household privacy, and gun confiscation, at Concord, Massachusetts, on April 19th, 1775. The United States assembled itself out of thirteen disparate but contiguous colonies, on July 4th, 1776. The war ended in a British defeat, at Yorktown, Virginia, on October 19th, 1781.
The American Revolutionary War was fought in the forests, settlements, and cities of eastern North America, mostly with muskets and smooth-bore cannon. General George Washington held together an under-supplied and outnumbered army for just barely long enough to finally outmaneuver and outfight the British regulars, and win independence for thirteen fractious new states.
While messing with the timeline, Rip Hunter assassinated the Continental Army's commander-in-chief George Washington. However, the Legends, a time-traveling group of heroes, went back and attempted to correct the assassination. In their mission, they failed to protect Washington from being captured, and he was set to be executed by the British. Thanks to the fighting spirit of Legend Mick Rory, Washington and Rory defeated their captures, protecting Washington from his preeminent death, and allowing the colonies to win their war for independence. For his act of courage during the war, a statue of Mick Rory was erected in Washington, D.C..
