Magic: Anansi's mystical abilities are based upon the deity Anansi's powers over stories, in which can be applied for various abilities in physical reality. These abilities sometimes manifest in the form of a spider web.^[1]

- Telepathy: Anansi can compell people to reveal secrets; the more secrets they possess, the greater his power.^[1]

Anansi is referred to as a trickster griotmancer.
- A griot is an African historian, poets, musicians, and/or storytellers that maintain oral tradition.
When question by Static if he is a spider, Anansi remarked he is "what I need to be". Although he appears human, his shadow also showcased him as half-spider, making his true nature currently unclear.^[1]
