André, later given the full name André Blanc-Dumont, was a French aviator and member of the Blackhawk Squadron. He was also a gifted espionage agent. During the team's brief stint as costumed super-heroes, he was also known as M'sieu Machine, a gadgeteer and master of disguise.
André was created by Will Eisner and Chuck Cuidera, first appearing in Military Comics #2 (1942).
