Andrew Nolan was Ferro Lad, a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 31st Century.

When supervillain Controller released a Sun-Eater to destroy Earth and its sun, the Legion and its worst enemies had to cooperate to build a weapon that could destroy it. In the end, Ferro Lad sacrificed himself to save Earth.
