Andy Muschietti (b. August 26, 1973) is an Argentine filmmaker known for directing dark blockbusters such as It, It Chapter Two, and The Flash.

Professional History

Andy Muschietti is a director who primarily works in the horror genre known for his dark storytelling, imaginative visual flair, and goofy comedic writing. His first film, Mama, was a commercial hit, albeit critically mixed, and led to Muschietti directing It and It Chapter Two, the two part film adaptation of Stephen King's acclaimed novel of the same name, for Warner Bros, with both films being massive hits commercially and critically.

In 2019, Muschietti was brought on to DC Studios as the director of the long in-development film The Flash, directing a script from Christina Hodson. The film was released in 2023, resetting the entire DC Extended Universe via time travel. A tie-in comic to the film, The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive, was also released, with Muschietti drawing a variant cover for the first issue. He has recently been signed on to direct The Brave and the Bold, which does not yet have a release date.
