Angela Roth was the mother of Raven.
History
Young, rebellious and gullible, Angela joined a cult that selected her for a Bride of Satan rite. They summoned the demon Trigon, and she fulfilled her part of the ritual. Initially appearing to her as a handsome young man, Trigon eventually revealed his true self and forced himself upon her.
She ran and was saved by the priests of Azarath, who sheltered her and her daughter, Raven. As she grew older, Raven wanted to learn more of her father and summoned him. Trigon took this opportunity to destroy Azarath, killing Angela and all the priests.
