- This issue's cover is a parody of the Disney animated feature Beauty and the Beast, which the first story is named after. Minerva's quote on the cover appears to be referring to another Disney animated film, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, which came out right around the same time as this issue.
- Dot and Mr. Plotz are Ms\Mr. Burbank, after the headquarters of Warner Bros. Entertainment, Inc. (which since 2016 also houses DC).
