- The kid Katie babysits, Alvin with teddy bear Hobbs, is a parody of Calvin and Hobbes (the parents are even similar to Calvin's ones).
- The mouse that the Warners pester is clearly a Mickey Mouse parody, working at "Dolt Whimsey" and angry that "Doofy" got his own movie. However, some of the allusions, such as him being nicknamed "The Gloved One", are Michael Jackson references.
