Nita Ashley is a reporter who was blackmailed into revealing Paradise Island's location to Abacus Rackeet

History

Nita was selected to cover the story of a little girl who had won a trip to Paradise Island for a story of her bravery and cleverness submitted by a grateful neighbor. Shortly after the announcement she was swept away by Abacus Rackeet who revealed he was holding her brother at gunpoint. Evidently her brother had racked up a huge debt to the criminal through his gambling, and Abacus told Nita that if she did not lead him to Paradise Island to steal their Amazonium stores he would kill her brother.
