Annihilator Jr. was originally a minor nuisance in Metropolis known as Pocketbook Pete.

History

Pocketbook Pete was a pickpocket until a run-in with the supervillain Annihilator. The Annihilator was looking to create a cover for himself and offered to adopt Pete to build on the cover. When Pete discovered the Kryptonian chemicals Annihilator used to grant him his powers, he ingested them as well and became Annihilator Jr. The pair hassled Superman and the United States president until Annihilator discovered the chemicals were weakening his heart. He worked with Superman to stop his son but the plan de-aged Annihilator Jr. into an infant. Annihilator vowed to raise his son properly this time around.
