Anubis was an enemy of the third Blue Beetle.

History

He was one of two small time crooks who fought each other because they both wanted the legacy title Hellhound. Blue Beetle suggested they just take different names instead - Anubis for his likeness to the Egyptian god of the same name. Anubis scoffed at the idea, coming from the third Blue Beetle. Both crooks were arrested, but they went with the hero's suggestion and formed Dogpound as Anubis and Devil Dog.
