Aphrodite is one of the Olympian Gods once worshiped by the people of ancient Greece. She is known as the Goddess of Love and Beauty, and is the special patron of the Amazons of Paradise Island.

Earth-Two

Aphrodite is the patron goddess of the Amazons of Paradise Island, especially the royal family as it was she who imbued the queen's daughter Diana with life. During Aphrodite's never-ending disagreements with Ares she brought to prominence an all female state with a society based on love, and subduing and teaching their foes rather than killing them. Ares took her Amazons as a personal challenge and after he had his own champions besiege and enslave them Aphrodite led the Amazons to the mystically hidden Paradise Island, where she herself resided, to rebuild their nation in peace.

New Earth

Aphrodite along with four other goddesses created the Amazons from the souls of women who had died at the hands of men, and gave them new stronger bodies, made from clay transformed into flesh and blood. The Amazons escaped Herakles and his men to an isolated and magically protected island called Themyscira, after their homeland was destroyed. They were ruled by their Queen Hippolyta. In this new land, they were granted eternal youth and beauty.[1] Some Amazons chose to remain behind, however, and, lacking immortality, formed the hidden nation of Bana-Mighdall.
