Apros is a member of the Green Lantern Corps.

Apros is one of the oldest and most decorated Green Lanterns. It was once part of the Green Lantern Honor Guard where Apros protected the Guardians of the Universe with the help of K'ryssma and Tomar-Re. It also trains rookies and helps them overcome their fear with his psionic abilities.

Green Lantern Corps

In charge of patrolling one of the earliest Sectors charted by the Guardians of the Universe, this plant-like being is one of the oldest and most revered of the Green Lantern Corps. Apros' roots, like those of his people, go deep with the Guardians. He helped to establish the Green Lantern Honor Guard–a status given to a highly decorated Green Lantern who has gone above and beyond their duties to the Corps. The Honor Guard has privileges beyond those of normal Corps members like going beyond their assigned Sector to enforce the law if need be.

Emerald Twilight

After Hal Jordan, as Parallax, annihilated the Green Lantern Corps, Apros lost his ring and ended up stranded in space. He was captured along with many other Green Lanterns by a slave-trading ring until Guy Gardner found and freed them.[1]

After the most recent rebirth of the GL Corps, and surviving his captivity as a slave and being saved by the grandiose Guy Gardner, Apros has retired from Honor Guard duties and instead uses his powerful psionic abilities to help new recruits overcome their fears.[2]

  • Alien Physiology
    • Telepathy: Apros can speak directly to minds of those it chooses, this extends from aliens, humans and even plants. If it has a brain and is sentient, Apros can speak to it. The range of this power has not been tested.
    • Telekinesis: Apros can move objects with its mind, although this power is mainly unused since he can do so with his Green Lantern Ring, Apros remains to have this ability in it's limited form.
    • Mind Control: Apros' mainly used power outside of the Green Lantern Ring is to control the mind of his enemies,so he can render its opponents utterly under its control and with its immense willpower can dominate their minds for an extended period. It has even controlled Guy to a lesser extent, but mostly for disciplinary reasons.

  • Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
