Aquaman: Deep Dives #7 is a chapter in the digital-first series Aquaman: Deep Dives (Volume 1 (Digital)) with a cover date of June, 2020.
Synopsis for "Stinging Tide, Part 3"
Atlanteans' trust in Aquaman has weakened since his barely-won battles against Scorpio's machinations. Nick Walton meanwhile gives Arthur a nano-cast for his broken arm. After learning from Vulko about fighting breaking out in Bazilia after Scorpio spread propaganda against him, Arthur heads there to stop it and leaves the Sea Devils to find the Scorpio base along with Tula. The Devils had extrapolated the routes of Torpedoman's signals and Tula figured out the only possible one that would allow the signal to travel without interference.
Arriving in Bazilia, Aquaman finds that Scorpio's undercover agents are spreading discontent against him and dares his opposers to fight him instead of his supporters. In the Cook Strait, Tula states that the place they're heading to is the Aquarium Prison built to house Atlan's enemies and has been abandoned for centuries, but comes upon a massive number of Scorpio soldiers residing there. The "Number One" of the Scorpio group soon comes out and reveals himself to be Kordax.
Tula and the Sea Devils are challenged to a fight by Kordax who knocks them all unconscious. Back at Bazilia, no one challenges Aquaman and he chastizes both his supporters and opposers for harming their fellow Atlanteans. the people of Bazilia surrender but call on their king to act like an inspiring ruler working for their benefit. Aquaman promises and asks the people to apprehend Scorpio's agents spreading discontent. Getting the Devils' SOS message, he then sets out to find them.
Meanwhile at Poseidonis, Mera and Garth struggle to beat back Arthur's opposers. Aquaman soon arrives at the Scorpio base and fights Kordax who gloats about destroying his legacy. Tula and the Sea Devils meanwhile fight against the Scorpio soldiers after re-awakening. Kordax, who resents how he was treated by his family, declares his resolve to humiliate Aquaman. Arthur states that he might have sympathized with him if he tried but he lost that chance by repeatedly attacking him.
During the battle, Arthur takes both his mind and that of Kordax to the celestial isthmus, which connects the sea with upper-dimensional waters, stating Kordax would have known if he ever used the Call for anything other than violence. Tula meanwhile instead of broadcasting a counter-narrative to that of Scorpio's, decides to simply switch the pirate signal off, stating Arthur must speak the truth to Atlanteans himself to win back their trust.
During their battle, Kordax gets swallowed by a mystical beast and Arthur explains he had made friends with the beings in the celestial isthums when he came here earlier. Returning to Earth, Arthur challenges the Scorpio soldiers to fight him and shows them their lobotomized leader, causing all of them to surrender. He then decides to reopen the Aquarium Prison and later eanrs back his people's trust with the truth.
