Aquaman: The Atlantis Chronicles is a hardcover reprinting the seven-issue limited series written by Peter David and drawn by Esteban Maroto originally published in 1990. The story focuses on Atlantis and its history following the Great Deluge, and how they adapted to life underwater. This collection also includes some research notes and essays written by Dr. R.K. Simpson, who worked closely with Peter David to adapt some ancient manuscripts that allegedly chronicle Atlantis' real history. Unable to publish this manuscripts due to his inability to probe their veracity as non-fiction, Simpson decided to go with DC to adapt it to a comic book.
