Synopsis for "Book Two: Anti-Hymn of Secret Truths"

Aquaman and the Flash attempt to fight the alien in Metropolis, but their wildly clashing attitudes and approaches make it difficult for them to effectively work together. Barry attempts multiple approaches to stop the alien but finds that the normal laws of physics do not appear to apply to it. He is frozen by his inability to apply scientific principles to find the alien's weakness. Arthur rallies him and they destroy the alien by attacking it head on. Barry says he needs a computer to anaylse the aliens and their technology, and so Arthur suggests they go to Atlantis, as its central computer core is buried miles below the ocean floor and may not be affected by the mysterious phenomenon.

They dive down to Atlantis and find the city's population, including Mera, frozen like the people on the surface. They go down to the computer core and Barry uses his Speed Force energy to power the supercomputer. He analyses the alien ships and finds that they are somehow draining the kinetic energy from the entire Earth, The aliens attack Atlantis and Barry suggests they attack the lead ship and find out how to stop the draining. He channels a huge burst of Speed Force energy through Aquaman's trident, blasting a hole in the ship's hull, and they leap out of the ocean onto the ship. They find it empty and Barry realises that it is a church, not a warship.

They hear a voice echoing through the ship and they learn that the aliens worship the void from before the creation of the Multiverse and consider motion and speed to be heresy. Barry realises to his horror that the aliens travel the universe devouring the Speed Force and believes that he brought the aliens to Earth. The ship transforms into a giant alien and grabs Barry, then dives into the ocean and heads straight for Atlantis. The alien begins to drain the Speed Force enegry from Barry, but at Arthur's urging he unleashes a huge burst of the energy, shattering the creature's armour. Aquaman finishes the alien off and they race back to Atlantis to find the people returning to normal.

Arthur joyfully reunites with Mera, but Barry tells them that he knows something is wrong. Speedsters have been active on Earth for almost a century yet the aliens only came now, and when the Voidsong caught them it was only interested in Atlantis, not him. Mera denies anything is wrong but Arthur shamefully admits that Atlantis has been secretly developing a space program. They've been tapping the Speed Force to fuel their ships, which drew the Voidsong to Earth, and used Barry's personal files in the Justice League database to learn what they needed to know about the Force. Barry is outraged at the invasion of his privacy, but suddenly Atlantis' sensors pick up a planet-sized spaceship entering orbit. Mera tells them that they can take Atlantis' new starship the Typhon 24 to attack the Voidsong craft, and save the world. Barry reluctantly agrees, but tells them that when the crisis is over he never wants to see them again.
