• The U.S. Navy has never had a ship with the name Pontchartrain. The U.S. Coast Guard did have a cutter under the designation USCGC Pontchartrain. The ship was commissioned on 28 July 1945, decommissioned on 19 October 1973, and scrapped in 1974.
