Synopsis for "The Rising Tide, Part Two"

Aquaman shoots out of the portal onto an alien planet and crashes into the mud of a dry seabed. He digs himself out and sees that the portal is shaped like an omega, but decides to focus on finding Atlantis and his family before worrying about that. He hears a group charging towards him and turns to see small green creatures riding giant lizards. The creatures announce that they are the Gindylow and will take him to their mistress. Aquaman uses his new power over water to control the mud and throws it in the Grindylow's eyes, blinding them. He then quickly overpowers them and their lizards and tells them to take him to their queen.

The Grindylow lead Aquaman to a catsle made of flotsam and jetsam and covered in seaweed, showing that the area they are in was all underwater recently. Aquaman goes inside and meets the Grindylow's queen: the mythological water hag Jenny Greenteeth. He says that he is just looking for Atlantis and is not there to fight. However, she replies that water on this world has dried up: "The Blue" is being stopped, so water is no longer spreading through "The Confluence" and The Red and The Green are dying. Jenny says that she needs to harvest water from his blood, and summons up vines the bind him and drag him through the floor.

The vines pull Aquaman into a basement full of skeletons hanging by vines from the ceiling. The vines suspend him over a cisten and cut him in multiple places, causing his blood to drip into the cistern. He tries to break free but the vines just grip him tighter, and a dishevelled old man hanging nearby tells him that the more he struggles the more they will cut him. The man confirms that the vines are meant to drain their blood into the cistern so Jenny Greenteeth can consume the water from their bodies. He reveals that he knows of Arthur's powers and says that with his ability to move water he can control the blood and get them free. Arthur focuses intently on his blood and is able to draw a drop of it back into his body just as it falls. He pulls the blood from the cistern and uses it to cut them free. They fall into the cistern below and the old man reveals that he is Arthur's ancestor Arion. Shocked, Arthur asks how he ended up there but Arion says there is no time to explain and they need to escape. Arthur refuses to leave however, and says that evil like Jenny should be destroyed rather than run from.

Aquaman erupts through the floor of Jenny's throne room on a wave of blood and attacks her. Arion climbs up through the hole and realises this matches an ancient prophecy of the "Dark Tide": a king from another world, an empty vessel waiting to be filled, the man made god. Aquaman is able to sense that Jenny is possessing the body of another and forces her out, revealing a woman in a purple dress with small antlers growing from her head. Aquaman rips the Greenteeth parasite apart but she survives and disappears into the ground, saying "Dagon lives". Arion and the woman in purple kneel to Aquaman, declaring him the Dark Tide and New God.
