Synopsis for "Homecoming"

Aquaman and his allies hold a mass funeral for Mera and the other Atlanteans, who were all killed by Dagon. Arion uses his magic to cremate the corpses underwater and Aquaman says it's time to leave. As they depart Andrina glares back at the burning corpses, the fire reflected in her eyes.

They all board a "blueship" previously belonging to Dagon's forces, which Nero rechristens as the "Blueship Nautlius" as a replacement for his destroyed submarine. With his new connection to The Blue, Aquaman is able to guide the back to Earth. During the journey, Arion reveals to the others that Aquaman's new power make him essentially a god. Zan is unconcerned by this even when Arion point out that Aquaman is dangerous, as he has total confidence that Arthur is a good guy and believes that a powered up superhero can only be positive. Arion and Vivienne shoot each other a sceptical look at his remarks.

The Blueship Nautilus emerges in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of a deserted island, where the Justice League are battling a possessed Superman. Superman overpowers the Leaguers and just as he is about to murder Batman, Aquaman grabs his wrist to stop him. Superman spins around and punches Aquaman full-force in the face, but Aquaman is unharmed apart from a minor split lip. He blasts Superman with energy and the "Blue Warriors" charge the man of steel. They restrain him and Vivenne recognises that he has been possessed by a similar entity as the one that infected her, and the team use their experience dealing with such creatures in The Blue to quickly remove the demon from him.

Later on the Watchtower, Aquaman explains to Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman what happened in The Blue. After they commiserate over Mera's death Batman broaches the subject of Aquaman's new allies joining the League. Arthur tells him that they aren't ready to trust others yet and would prefer to stay on Earth than the Watchtower, but the League can count on them as allies. Arthur goes to his quarters on the Watchtower and wistfully looks at old pictures of himself with Mera and other friends of his now dead. He reflects that nothing will ever be the same again, but he needs to keep going for the sake of his daughter and all who live in the ocean. Arthur shaves off his beard and jumps from the Watchtower down to Earth, landing once again in the Atlantic.

Arthur swims to the abandoned ruins of Atlantis. He thinks to himself that without Mera and his people it is not his home, just a reminder of a past he has to leave behind. He swims away, but doesn't hear Mera's voice calling for him. Hidden from Arthur's view by some vortex of energy, Atlantis is still whole and its people are still alive. Mera, Garth and Jackson; alive and still young, look out at Arthur swimming away from them. With them is Andy Curry, still a baby.
