Argo was a sister planet of Krypton.
History
Argo was pushed out of its orbit, when Krypton was destroyed. The increased distance from the sun caused Argo to enter an ice age, that would wipe out Argoan race. Years later Superman visted Argo and saved Kara In-Ze, the last daughter of Argo.
