Shockwave was an enemy of Superman.
History
Origins
Arnold was a criminal who had developed an armor capable of giving him powers, in order to upgrade it he bought components from Crash.[1]
New 52
Shockwave was one of the many supervillains who attacked the Daily Planet when Lois Lane outed Superman's identity to the world but was quickly defeated when Superman got serious.[2]
He later resurfaced when a Chicago newspaper called him "a two-bit simpleton" and he decided to attack the city by causing several earthquakes which caught the attention of Superman who quickly defeated by disassembling his armor.[3]
Rebirth
At some point Shockwave was arrested and sent at Stryker's Island Penitentiary but escaped when Ultrawoman launched her assault on Metropolis.[4]
He was tracked down by Atomic Skull and the Metropolis Special Crimes Unit but after a brief chase and a fight he was taken back to the central and interrogated by Maggie Sawyer on Crash's whereabouts.[1]

- Superhuman Strength: Shockwave's armor allows him to strike the ground with enough power to cause earthquakes.[3]
- Superhuman Durability: Shockwave's armor allows him to survive blows from super strong opponents without serious injusties.[1]
- Energy Projection: Shockwave can project blasts of ultrasonic vibrations.[1]
Notes
- Shockwave was created by Gary Cohn and Dan Mishkin, first appearing in Blue Devil #2. However, in the Prime Earth continuity, Shockwave first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in Superman (Volume 3) #44 by Gene Luen Yang and John Romita, Jr..
