The Flashpoint Timeline was created when the Flash went back in time to try and save his mother.
History
When the Flash went back in time to save his mother from the Reverse Flash, his action created a new timeline of events. Dubbed "Flashpoint" by the Reverse Flash, Barry lived in this new reality for three months before beginning to lose his memories.
Panicking, Barry had the Reverse Flash go back in time again to kill his mother in an attempt to get the timeline back to the way it was, erasing this timeline in the process.[1]
