Artemis was an Amazon and resident of Themyscira.
History
When the Amazons found Steve Trevor, Artemis wanted to kill him. However, it was decided to simply send the boy back home, with Queen Hippolyta going with him. Ten years later, Artemis attempted to stop Princess Diana from leaving the island and looking for Hippolyta. The two fought, but Artemis was defeated by Diana.
