Arthur Challis was the abusive father of Kay Challis that lead her to becoming Crazy Jane.
History
Arthur Challis lived with his wife Elena on a farm in Arkansas. Together, they had one daughter named Kay. Arthur was a cruel man, often physically and sexually abusing his daughter when she was a child. Whenever Kay misbehaved in any way, Arthur would force her to sit in a bucket and be lowered down into the farm's well as a punishment. Eventually, Kay's mind fractured from all the abuse, developing multiple personalities to cope with her lost innocence.
When Kay was a teenager, after switching to a new "primary" personalty called Miranda, Arthur once again punished his daughter for looking at a boy flirtatiously in church by putting her back into the well. Miranda, strong and determined, left a note in the well and climbed out, swearing to leave the abuse behind and ran away.
