Arthur Deal III was a Nazi agent under deep cover in the United States during World War II
History
Due to his reputation as a patriot, Deal was handpicked by president Roosevelt to head a committe to investigate Major Trevor, who had been accused of being a spy and saboteur. In reality, Deal was a Nazi spy, codenamed "Thor" and in league with Baroness von Gunther, with whom he had spent months making Trevor out to be a spy for Germany.
