Arx was a member of the Green Lantern Corps assigned to Sector 488.

He was a native of the planet Thorr'g. Born a twin, Arx had an immensely competitive nature, and in some ways considers his selection as a Green Lantern another way of surpassing his brother, who was not chosen. While this spirit gave him a large edge while training as a rookie, it also made it slightly more difficult for him to establish good teamwork with his fellow Lanterns.[1] While still a rookie, he was unfortunate enough to get in the way of Guy Gardner attempting to demand shore leave.

Salakk ordered Arx, G'hu, Krydel-4 and Vandor to prevent Gardner from interrupting the Guardians. They were unable to subdue the raging Earthman, and sent to combat reorientation for their failure.[2]

Quintet of the Sinestro Corps was responsible for slaughtering a number of Arx's family members, along with many other Lantern families, and raining their eyeballs down on Oa to torment them. Arx, still a rookie at the time, was seen throwing up at the atrocity.[3] The murderers were captured by Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, Kilowog and Saarek who imprisoned them in Sciencells.[4]

During the War of Light, after Sinestro was captured during the Sinestro Corps War and sentenced to execution on Korugar, Arx was one of a number of guards sent to escort him. Still angered by the loss of his family, Arx failed to understand why they didn't kill Sinestro themselves, but Alpha Lantern Boodikka forbade him. Unfortunately, he was shortly afterward blasted through the head by a Sinestro Corps member lying in ambush to break their leader out. He remained defiant to fear up until his last breath.[5] However, he is resurrected as a member of the new Black Lantern Corps during Blackest Night.[6]
