August Means was a sick young woman who became infected at a young age with an interdimensional psychic monster that named itself "Fraidy Cat".

This creature helped August cope with her disease, as she managed to grow better. After the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Islamaphobic groups started fires and sowed chaos across her small home town, so Fraidy Cat "volunteered" to help calm the people. She became a form of guardian spirit for the town, needing only the sacrifice of young children as payment. Fraidy's hold over August made her not notice anything wrong with this.

When the FBI discovered the missing children, they attempted to interfere, but Fraidy further manipulated August into attacking the agents sent to investigate. The pair almost succeeded, until another mental parasite called Polly Peachpit killed Fraidy, and her host Melba killed August.

Powers

  • Enhanced Vision: Means is what the IMP division calls an "Advanced Host"; due to her infection from Fraidy Cat at a young age, her infection spread to the point of being able to see other imaginary fiends as well.
