Marooned on Earth, Arnus took on the human identity of Augustus Freeman. After centuries of living in the background, he was inspired by Rocket to become the superhero Icon.
History
Arnus crashed his starship in the south of the United States of America in 1839. He altered his DNA so that he resembled an African American and was taken as a slave under the name Augustus Freeman. As he aged much slower than human, he continued to pose as the next generation's Augustus Freeman. Despite being involved in much of black history, he didn't use his powers until he was inspired by Rocket, taking the codename Icon.
