The Green Lantern of Sector 1014 was attempting to hold back the forces of the Crabster Invasion when he landed on his home planet of Hl'ven. The inhabitants of H'lven were an evolutionarily and scientifically advanced species that resembled many woodland animals common on Earth. B'rr resembled a raccoon while his successor Ch'p of Hl'ven looked very much like a common forest chipmunk.

B'rr was killed when he attempted to repel the invasion of H'lven by the evil Doctor Ub'x and his army of Crabsters. Upon B'rr's death, the Guardians of the Universe selected Ch'p as a worthy replacement to join the Green Lantern Corps since B'rr died before he could choose a successor. The new Green Lantern was inspired by his predecessor’s heroic deeds and fought off the invasion of Hl'ven.
