Baby-Doll is the criminal alias used by Mary Dahl, a washed-up actress driven to insanity by prejudice against the rare condition she was born with that prevents her from physically-aging into a fully-grown adult. While intelligent and disturbed, she assumes the persona of a joyful sitcom little girl and gimmicks herself around television shows and children's toys. Basing herself in Gotham City, she has become one of Batman's most tragic enemies. Another character nicknamed Baby Doll is one of the many personalities of Kay Challis, a member of the Doom Patrol.
Baby-Doll was originally created by Paul Dini as a character in the DCAU. Her first appearance was in the Batman: The Animated Series episode "Baby-Doll" (1994). Her comic debut would be in Batman: Li'l Gotham #3 (2013), albeit part of the Lil Gotham Universe's continuity. Several years later, her first appearance in regular continuity would take place in Harley Quinn 30th Anniversary Special #1 (2022).
