Synopsis for "Issue 21"

Slayton and Amanda discuss the death of Cyberjack and the revelation that Slayton is a hybrid. Slayton kisses Amanda to ease her mind about his emotional state. Meanwhile, Jodi is painting a picture of the scene and waiting on a pizza delivery. The doorbell rings, but instead of a delivery guy, it's Brawl and Homicide of the Chasers looking to find Amanda Reed and bring her with them voluntarily. Jodi tries to misdirect them, but Amanda is spotted. Homicide goes off-book and forces his way into the home in his efforts to capture her.

More or less giving up on controlling Homicide, Brawl orders Gaze to have Recoil flank the rear of the cottage to cut off their escape. Slayton attacks Recoil, suffering a minor wound in the process, but manages to knock her unconscious. Now that he knows he's dealing with the Chasers, Slayton cuts the power to the house and takes out homicide. Amanda tries to evacuate Jodi to an escape route, but is cut off by Brawl. Jodi changes into her Crimson gear and the pair manage to stop Brawl in his tracks. Finally in a position to talk, Brawl reveals that they were here on a mission by the State Department to give Amanda a summons to testify against the Cabal in exchange for a full pardon of her past crimes.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Nevada, Mistress Lilitu assigns her mercenaries to go to Washington, D.C. and assassinate Amanda before she can testify. Her henchman, Zalil, questions if the team will be successful. But the Mistress doesn't intend for the team to be successful, only to test Ms. Reed and Slayton to prove their worth to her in the future.
