Backslash was an enemy of Zatanna.

History

Backslash was a common criminal who captured a fairy and came into possession of a magic sword that could rewind time. He used it to go on a crime spree in San Francisco, unopposed because he could undo his opponents every move. He was confronted by Zatanna, who was at first powerless against him as he reverted all her backwards spells. The captured fairy suggested she make her spells in palindromes instead. With some imaginative spells like "Egad! No Bondage!", "Stack cats!" and "Puff up!", she defeated him. Backslash was arrested and the sword and fairy taken from him.
