Balam was a powerfull demon Duke of Hell. Eventually, Balam meets the Night Hag Dora and falls in love with her. They have a brief relationship and he wanted to be more than a business partner, but Dora was not interested in any more involvement with him.
Balam was the name of a Bat-God and an ancient Mayan Priest. Balam was adapted from the mythological demon of the same name by Eric Lustbader, first appearing in Batman: The Last Angel (1994).
