Bane was a member of Vandal Savage's Legion of Doom.

History

Bane was tasked with the elimination of Batman. He snuck into Wayne Manor, dug up Bruce's parent's graves outside the manor and removed the caskets, leaving behind empty graves. Disguised as a civilian, Bane alerted Bruce Wayne of the grave's disappearance. While a confused and upset Bruce wondered at who did this, Bane revealed himself and kicked Bruce into one of the empty graves. Bruce tried to escape but was beaten unconscious by Bane. Bane then buried him alive in his father's casket, leaving a radio communicator behind so Bane could give his final goodbyes. Meanwhile at the Legion of Doom headquarters, Bane noted that for 10 years he tried to kill Batman, but this time, he humiliated him.

Unbeknownst to Bane however, Bruce dug his way out of the ground. As the Legion of Doom prepared for the next step in Vandal Savage's plan for World conquest, the Justice League appeared and Savage ordered the team of villains to attack. Bane confronted Batman one more time, with Batman telling Bane that burying him was a mistake, to which Bane assures he won't make again. During the battle, Bane showed to be having the upper hand at defeating Batman, but as Bane clenched Batman's throat, Batman tossed a Batarang directed at Bane's Venom tube, weakening him. Batman then delivered a finishing blow to Bane, knocking him out.
