Bane was an enemy of Batman in Gotham City.

History

He and a few other of Batman's rogues infiltrated the Batcave and tortured his butler Alfred Pennyworth. Bane finally killed him by breaking his back.

Later, after Batman built an artificial intelligence called the Alfred Protocol to deal with his grief, the AI went on a killing spree, cornered Bane, and shot him to death, as well as all of Batman's other villains trapped in Arkham.
