Bar-Nes was a thief who lived on the island of Bokos on the planet Krypton.
History
Many years ago, Bar-Nes learned that a young boy named Val-Mer had discovered a strange glowing rock in the Striped River. Believing that this rock was a source of great power, his partner Ta-Tem and he decided to fly to the city-state of Erkol and steal it. They attacked the Kryptonian Science Council and attempted to force them relinquish the stone, but Val-Mer grabbed it, stole Bar-Nes' flyer and returned it to its place of origin where he fed it to a Metal-Eater.

- This version of Bar-Nes, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
