Barbara Gordon was Gotham City's vigilante known as Batgirl. She has abandoned that title and adopted the moniker Oracle.[1]
History
Barbara met Mistery, Inc. when they were investigating a ghost haunting Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. Seeing they were in trouble, Velma Dinkley decided to improvise a Bat-Signal, which was answered by Batgirl. Batgirl unmasked the "ghost"-- Catwoman, who was trying to steal a gem which Harley and Ivy had previously stolen-- and captured the three villains with a bit of aid of the Scooby-Doo Gang.
Later in her career, Batgirl and fellow heroines Black Canary and Huntress founded the Birds of Prey. When a mythological, suddenly-appearing-and-disappearing Roc started haunting the streets of Gotham, displaying a fondness for cracking vaults and armored trucks, Batgirl thought of calling Velma and Daphne Blake to look into the case. Soon the group figured out the Roc and other giant mythological birds were robots created by the Penguin. During the ensuing fight, Batgirl took Penguin's remote control off his hands and found the way to shut the robots down. Then the group took down the Penguin and his henchmen.
