Barbara Whitmore is the mother of Courtney Whitmore. Her daughter Courtney becomes the superhero Stargirl and joins the Justice Society. She is married to Pat Dugan, also known as Stripesy, sidekick to the original Star-Spangled Kid. They live in Blue Valley, Nebraska with Pat's son Mike Dugan and their daughter Patricia Dugan. Her ex-husband Sam Kurtis became a member of the Royal Flush Gang. Barbara Whitmore was created by Geoff Johns and Lee Moder, first appearing in Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. #0. (1999)
