Barbatos

Barbatos is a name used by two different characters in the DC Universe.

The first Barbatos was a powerful demon from Hell, a Grand Duke of the Ninth Circle whose goal was to trick Tim Hunter, Earth's greatest mage, into becoming his slave. The second Barbatos was a "Bat-God" created by Alpheus, the World Forger, to consume the universes which fall back decayed. He claims to be the bat that Bruce Wayne saw through the window the night he became Batman.

The demon was adapted by John Ney Rieber and Peter Snejbjerg, first appearing in The Books of Magic (Volume 2) #5 (1994). The Bat-God was created by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, first appearing in Dark Days: The Casting #1 (2017).
