History
The Barons of Vyberg were a line of cruel nobles, spreading fear in their feudal lands in the Black Forest. The first Baron was killed in revenge for killing a farmer and his daughter. It was said that the murderer cursed the line of Vyberg, because ever since, all direct male descendants had been murdered to avenge a woman.
The 13th Baron of Vyberg was as cruel as his forefathers and well aware of his family history, so he chose not to marry. He had only one love: Nazi Germany. Under Hitler's orders, he organized a Luftwaffe unit called the Rattlesnakes. The best pilots in the Third Reich gathered for a single purpose: destroy the Blackhawk Squadron.
The unit quickly gained a reputation for their cruelty, which drew the attention of the Blackhawks. They sprung a trap for them, allowing the Skyrockets to pass well within German territory before attacking them. King Cobra engaged Blackhawk in an evenly matched fight, which ended when the latter was forced to ditch when his guns jammed. King Cobra followed Blackhawk to a farmhouse, where he killed the farmer's wife. He immediately regretted it when he realized the curse came in again and the farmer shot him in revenge.

- King Cobra is not the same villain as King Cobra, whom the Blackhawks met in Blackhawk #58 and Blackhawk #80. He is also not known to be affiliated with the female pirate Cobra from Modern Comics #71.
